Our Godalming-area puppy training classes are held in Marwick Hall on School Lane in Puttenham on Thursday evenings and Milford Village Hall on Portsmouth Road on Wednesday Mornings. Current class dates and availability are shown above and on the main booking page. Our Godalming venues are easily accessible from Milford, Elstead, Witley, Farncombe, Guildford, Compton, Chiddingfold, Thursley and surrounding villages.

Our puppy development programme is designed for puppies up to 18 weeks of age. Starting early allows you to work on important foundations such as confidence building, socialisation, calm behaviour and everyday skills during the most important stage of development.

No you don’t need to wait until your puppy has finished the vaccinations to socialise and train. Our Pre-Vaccination Programme can begin as early as 8 weeks and aims to give you early support and guidance helping your puppy settle into their new family home, develop confidence and begin safe early socialisation. The programme contains a combination of home-based learning along with carefully considered opportunities to introduce your puppy to new experiences safely outdoors.Socialisation isn' just about playing with other dogs. It is vital that puppies learn about the world around them from at an early age and socialisation can start with meeting different people, sounds, sights, environments, surfaces, vehicles and other dogs from a safe distance. Whether your puppy can attend training classes before their vaccinations are complete will depend your individual vets advice, their age, vaccination status, your individual circumstances and local disease risk. Where appropriate, in some circumstances we can put additional precautions in place and carefully manage the environment to enable them to start safely early. Direct contact with other puppies or dogs may need to wait until your puppy is fully vaccinated, so we recommend following your vet’s advice about what is appropriate for your puppy.The important thing is that early development doesn’t have to stop while you wait for vaccinations. With the right approach, you can begin helping your puppy learn, explore and build confidence from the very beginning.We recommend speaking with your vet about your puppy’s individual vaccination and socialisation plan so that you can make informed decisions based on their circumstances and the level of disease risk in your area.

Our training focuses on practical fills for everyday family life including attention, recall, loose-lead walking, settling, handling, polite greetings, useful cues such as leave it and drop. However our training goes beyond basic commands and we also focus on behavioural training for building calm responses and how to help your puppy make right choices.

That is exactly why our classes are carefully managed. Our small classes allow us to observe body language and assess each individual and we help puppies learn around other dogs at their own pace. We carefully manage the whole room and thoughtfully construct social sessions to support and help build confidence in nervous puppies. It gives them the ideal opportunty, time and safe space to do just that.

We limit our classes to a maximum of five puppies, with two experienced instructors providing individual coaching. This helps us maintain a calm learning environment rather than having a large group where puppies can become overwhelmed and struggle to focus.
