Making Puppy Training Fun for Dogs and Owners in Surrey

Want to put a spring in your step this Easter? Having a better behaved dog can make all the difference to your household and ensure you enjoy a strong relationship with your pet throughout their life.

Living with a dog that’s badly behaved can be stressful for everyone involved. From waking up to find your pooch has chewed your favourite shoes, to dread when taking them for a walk because of them jumping up at strangers, it’s hard to enjoy the full benefits of dog ownership.

Ideally, you should start training as early as possible. One of the biggest benefits of having a puppy rather than an older dog is you can influence them during the socialisation stage. Our puppy training classes in Surrey are ideal for little ones aged between 9 to 18 weeks and teach all kinds of essential skills.

What is the socialisation period?

This period of a dog’s life is a key developmental stage and can start as early as 3-5 weeks, which is when puppies start interacting with their siblings. However, it’s when they’re aged around 9 weeks that they should be introduced to new environments and experiences. That includes meeting new people, walking on different surfaces like grass, seeing other animals, and hearing more unusual household noises.

After about 14 weeks, puppies may become more cautious or fearful of unfamiliar things, so early, positive exposure is vital for them to become confident adults.

With 25 years of experience, Canine Kids knows a thing or two about training dogs! Our team is highly qualified but just as passionate as we’ve always been. From training puppies to older rescue dogs, we provide exceptional training for all our canine friends.
