Inside a Puppy Training Class in Hampshire: What to Expect at Canine Kids

Puppies bring so much joy to our life, but also chaos. From your favourite shoes being knawed to sleepless nights, it’s surprisingly overwhelming without the right support.

That’s where puppy training classes in Hampshire come in, and Canine Kids is leading the way with our Foundations for Life course.

Designed specifically for puppies up to 18 weeks old, this four-week programme gives new pet parents the guidance they need to raise calm, confident dogs. Here’s what really happens inside the classroom, and why this isn’t your average puppy class.

A Course That Builds Real-Life Skills

Our Foundations for Life course runs across venues in Camberley, Farnham, Godalming, Fleet and Northchapel. Each session is led by two expert trainers with decades of experience, including a degree- and Masters-qualified behavioural instructor.

You and your pup benefit from hands-on, personalised support in calm, friendly classes with no more than five puppies per class.

Across the four weeks, your puppy will learn:

  • How to walk calmly on a lead

  • Sit, down, and stay with patience

  • Recall (coming back when called)

  • "Leave it" and "Drop" commands

  • Good handling for vet visits and grooming

  • Focus and attention in distracting environments

These aren’t just entertaining tricks: they’re essential life skills that help prevent behavioural problems before they start.

Well Structured Classes

Socialising your puppy doesn’t mean letting them run wild, so they can meet as many other dogs and people as possible. At Canine Kids, social interactions are carefully monitored to ensure every pup, whatever their temperament, has positive experiences. Nervous puppies can build their confidence gently, while more boisterous learn polite manners and boundaries.

However, what if your pup needs extra support? Optional Puppy Socials are available in Farnham for puppies up to 14 weeks. These Sunday morning sessions offer enriching experiences, enabling them to encounter new objects and calmly interact, all under professional supervision.

Support Beyond the Classroom

One of the most useful parts of our training is ongoing support. We don’t abandon you after the classes end: our trainers are available via telephone and WhatsApp for advice during the course.

If issues like separation anxiety or persistent biting pop up, one-to-one home visits are also available.

Whether you want to focus on specific behaviours or just need flexible scheduling, these tailored sessions give you and your pup the time and attention to work through challenges at your own pace.

Why It Works

Unlike quick-fix training tips from YouTube, Canine Kids takes a scientifically-proven approach. Everything is grounded in behaviour science and our years of experience, giving your puppy the best foundation possible.

You’re not just teaching your puppy how to ‘sit’: you’re preparing them for the real world.
